An official email from the administration has been sent out to all students and it is made, official, MEDICAID IS HERE TO STAY!!!! From the announcement: "We have decided that Medicaid, as it has in previous years, will meet the health coverage requirement at BYU-Idaho. Because of its limited capacity and scope of services, our Health Center has not been a Medicaid service provider. This will not change. We are grateful to the healthcare professionals in the area who provide services to Medicaid recipients." We couldn't have done it without all the faithful members of the Facebook group and also the quick spread of this message through social media. From the presidency of the Progressive Student Society, we thank you for making this possible! Most importantly, the students and future students of BYU-Idaho who depend on Medicaid coverage thank you! Let this be a lesson to all, of the power of organizing and advocacy through social media! Change is possible. No matter if it is through venting frustrations directly to those responsible for the issue, through extensive press coverage or sharing the news with friends and family. CHANGE.
