People’s and animal’s health is negatively impacted by fireworks exploding all around them.  There is also an increased chance of fire caused by errant fireworks.  In 2020, fireworks were the cause of 360 fires and 237 injuries in Washington State.  
Bremerton has established 11 am to 11 pm on July 4th as the allowed time to set off fireworks.  Despite that, numerous people disregard that and set them off starting two weeks before and several days after.  Many  leave the debris in the streets, on sidewalks, in other’s yards, parking lots, and on beaches.  It’s time we ended this dangerous, damaging, and disruptive practice.  Request you ban the sale and use of personal fireworks within the City of Bremerton.  Public displays could still be allowed with a permit, but individual fireworks would not.
