As a concerned father of a small daughter, I can't bear the notion of such innocent souls becoming victims of horrendous crimes such as rape. It's unthinkable, the fear they might not even be able to speak up perfectly about their traumatizing experiences. We can, and must, take a stance against such brutality. In numerous countries across the world, the legal systems are failing the victims. For instance, according to the Bureau of Justice Statistics in the United States, out of 1,000 rapes, only 230 are reported, 46 lead to arrest, and merely 5 result in felony conviction. The punishment for such a grave offense needs to be more severe. We demand the implementation of harsher penalties for rape convicts to deter future crimes and serve justice to the victims.
