We the youth of the west and south sides of Chicago and #NoCopAcademy are tired of being ignored. We are tired of seeing continuous investment into the Chicago Police Department and tired of the city telling US what safety looks like within our communities without actually asking us what makes us feel safe. What we do know is adding a boys and girls club on the site of a cop academy as a "resource" for black youth is absurd, is the opposite of safety and is only a PR move by the mayor to make this cop academy more palpable to us. If you are FIRED UP and CAN'T TAKE IT ANYMORE sign on to our open letter to the boys and girls club of Chicago to let them know THIS AIN'T IT?
