Artificial intelligence is a rapidly expanding technology that has already surpassed many of our expectations (in a very short amount of time). And whilst it may have its place in the world and even come of aid within certain industries, I whole-heartedly believe and advocate for the fact that it bears no right to bleed into the creative field.

A.I is already taking so many art industry jobs and as the technology advances, it will claim more. The art industry is already one that's difficult to obtain a successful career in, so, I must ask, why is the RMIT art department entertaining the idea, let alone, encouraging it?

What kind of dystopian nightmare are we living in where artificial intelligence is a part of an art degree?

Why is it a part of my arts degree? Why am I paying money to learn about artificial intelligence? I know I'm not the only art student or person who feels this way, and we need to protest this in some notion.

If you feel the same (art student or not), sign the petition to show your support for real art and real artists. Let us affiliate and indicate to the school of art that this is NOT something the upcoming generation of artists has any interest or support for.
