Boycott Activision over predatory anti consumer practices and breach of online privacy
The Issue
As you may well have figured, Activision has a long history of going after community supported mods to fix ailing servers that are open to hacking. They just recently shut down H2M which allows the Modern Warfare Remastered servers to be played in a safe area. This greedy company who has more money than God and is being investigated by the FTC, brazenly and with full knowledge that these people who make these mods just had their entire effort wasted, just sunk yet another attempt to fix the rampant cheating and hacking that is going on within the servers. You can't go anywhere without getting hacked and there is no anti-cheat for the older titles. So far Activision has gone after:
SM2 was a project meant to a love letter to previous call of duty games and was to be released for free. Activision sent a Cease and Desist and they got shut down. Warzone 2.0 is still a buggy mess. This project was done for no monetary gain and was a fan project.
Xlabs (IW4X) got shut down. For those of us with the 2009 Modern warfare 2, going online is a risk. It is here that I got hacked by another player. I lost control of my PC and had to reboot. Thousands of other players will tell you the same thing. I don't understand why the FTC is not investigating Activision for this. I know that the clients are by themselves illegal but there is NO OTHER WAY to play online. It's either play with bots, private matches or get hacked online and not all of us have a ton of friends to do a local match.
Plutonium is the last safe haven for the OG games. If Activision goes after it, I and others like me, will stage a mass boycott of the COD series. I am calling for a Declaratory Judgment against Activision over their predatory actions towards both the community and players in general as well as a mass protest of the COD series and all Activision products until such time that an investigation can be bought forth. Please do not ignore this epidemic. Soon it will be impossible to play online at all and Activision is doing nothing to help the situation. The videos that follow are proof of my words.
This was a year ago which happened in Warzone 2.0:

and this hasn't even scratched the surface. Activision has left a decade's worth of RCE bugs unpatched which is a massive security risk. Hackers can take control of your machine and steal sensitive data. If this is a concern for big companies, then how come people like me, gamers like me are overlooked? We are in need of a change. I am BEGGING you, please step in and stop this madness.
This is an Appeal to the Central District of California for an immediate investigation into the company over their rampant misuse of copyright to the detriment of a community that is teetering on the brink of collapse.
Please help us, Activision is leaving us to rot. Not only are they anti consumer but they are destroying a piece of history. this has to stop
This just came in three hours ago: The project H2M is dead. I am amending this petition to call for a nationwide boycott. This video should provide ample evidence. I appeal to the US Supreme court over this matter. Activision is destroying our way of life and hanging us out to dry.
The Privacy policy guarantees a safeguard of user data and we agreed to that, we AGREED for this company to keep our data safe and now we are trapped as hackers and others are bleeding us dry.
I Appeal to the Central District of California and request a Declaratory judgment in this matter. This is predatory, anti consumer harassment and should not be shielded from litigation.
