Today, our lawyers submitted to the Department of Public Health (DPH) John Lynch’s latest report, "Response to the DPH on Relative Merit & Project Alternatives in the Matter of DoN Project 4-3C47." In this report, Lynch makes clear the contradictions and discrepancies which run rampant through the words and actions of Boston Children’s Hospital (the Applicant), as they have progressed through the process of expansion. The report discusses, among many things, the soliciting of international patients, the question of “need” vs “demand," the declining need for pediatric beds for Massachusetts patients, the alternative building sites available, and the fact that the hospital's own medical staff opposes the project.
