This petition calls for the immediate removal of construction from the governments "essential services" list.

Until the government remove construction from said list, millions of workers are at risk of contracting Covid-19 due to travelling to work and working in close proximity. 

Smaller / independent companies cannot halt work because until the government remove them from the "essential services" list they are not eligible for financial support from the government. 

Millions of workers, including, but not limited to, builders, electricians, plumbers, carpenters, site managers and their famillies and children are at risk.

This is a matter close to my heart as my partner and father to our 8 month old son is an electrician working on construction sites (you may also know someone who works in the industry) and he is at risk every day and is, by no fault of his own, putting myself and our baby at risk. 

Please take a moment to sign and share this petition to bring it to the attention of your local MP and Boris Johnson. To save lives and protect our NHS the government request we stay home, this should include the millions of construction workers currently expected to put their lives at risk.
