During the Covid_19 pandemic women in the UK are trapped with abusive men in large numbers and some of them will die. Their situation right now is critical as men are able to isolate them still further, control their movements and abuse them. Women and their children suffering trauma need to be helped to freedom.

This is always done - and excellently done - by front line women's services who are woefully underfunded and always have been. Right now that must change. These highly skilled women - and only those women - know exactly how to use funds to help women to freedom. Get funds to them now. Unrestricted funds - no strings attached - let them use them as best they can. These are devoted, inventive, feminist women and they will save other women's lives. They do it every day on shoestring budgets. They need to do it now much faster and harder than before and they can't do it on fresh air and good will. Give them the money they need for helpline staff, skilled support workers, extra beds in refuges or other appropriate emergency spaces and staff to service them - hotels aren't the answer - women's services are. Give them the money now and let's get women free and stop them dying at the hands of abusive men.
