Middlebury, Indiana is a quaint little town nestled in the industrious Elkhart County of Northern Indiana.  From the hours of 6 PM to 3:30 AM it remains fairly quiet and the population is fairly normal compared to other small towns of similar size.  However, as a result of deliveries to major manufacturing businesses, parent and student drivers, commuters, and thru traffic on our major roadway, US 20, once 3:30 AM rolls around all the way through 6 PM, the population and amount of mobile devices relying on the local cellular network, begin to rise steadily.  Recent statistics from the Middlebury Chamber of Commerce found that the local population nearly triples during the daytime hours.  As a result cellular service in and around Middlebury is very poor during primary business hours.  Many locals have speculated that the school system is suppressing data service in and around the Middlebury Community School campus.  After checking into this theory, I’ve confirmed that this is NOT happening.  It IS the quality of our local cellular network.  Our cellular service providers don’t seem to understand this or, dare I say, care.  The reason for this petition is to gather signatures from local parents, students, educators, and businesses in order to petition these service providers to improve the mobile data service in and around Middlebury, Indiana.
