Say NO to high risk tenants in the Bonterra Village square!

The Issue

Bonterra Village Residents,

I wanted to inform you that a new commercial tenant that now occupies 2413-B Bonterra Blvd is an Addiction Medicine office. This facility helps drug addicted persons to slowly detox patients off of harsh, illegal drugs. This facility dispenses Suboxone to addicts. My mother is a retired nurse who used to work at a similar clinic. She recalls groups of individuals waiting outside the clinic fighting, sleeping on the sidewalks, selling their recently prescribed Suboxone or Methadone, irate because they were denied their dose due to being under the influence, etc. The Charlotte Mecklenburg Police would dispatch an officer to the clinic to sit in the parking lot during business hours where many times assistance was needed to control the situation.

This tenant has the potential to attract illegal  drug trafficking and other criminal activities to our wonderful, safe neighborhood. I have a 4 year old daughter, and I know many of you have children 0-17 that it is our duty to protect! I want to feel safe in this neighborhood. I also do not want our property values to take a nose dive due to the presence of a drug clinic! It is outrageous that Property Management would allow this kind of business in our family-friendly neighborhood!

It is important to note that we understand the need for this type of facility, but it is better served in a commercial real estate setting and not a family community or residential neighborhood.

Please join me in telling our HOA and Cedar Property Management that this is an unacceptable tenant use by signing this petition!
