The latest trilogy in the revered Star Wars saga has come to an end, and critics and fans largelt agree that the final product is an absolute betrayal to the the themes, characters, and vision that made the pre-Disney films so culturally important. What was once a noble endeavor to create a modern myth that could provide society with spiritually instructive archetypes and universally relatable scenarios is now a pandering money making initiative.

Disney certainly has the legal right to make these films, but they don't have the power to say they're canonical... I encourage them to officially relegate episode 7-9 to same place they've relegated Shadows of the Empire, Splinter of the Mind's Eye, and The Ewok Adventure.

I encourage everyone who agrees with this sentiment to sign this petition to have Episodes 7-9 decanonized so that perhaps one day this story can be told in an authentic way one day in the future, if they need to be told at all.
