Thanks to conscientious consumers like you, our petition asking Costco to go 100% gestation crate free has earned over 150,000 supporters ... but we need more Costco members to join this effort.

As the second largest retailer in the world, Costco’s impact on farmed animal welfare is huge. While we all appreciate Costco's pledge to phase out the use of gestation crates by 2022, the promise falls short because its major suppliers will still confine mother pigs in gestation crates during the first six weeks after she is impregnated.  

Costco cares about what its members think. Please keep sharing this petition with friends and family who are Costco members. Let's get Costco to end its use of gestation crates for a mother pig’s entire pregnancy cycle by 2022.

Gestation crates are widely recognized as cruel and inhumane. They immobilize a mother pig in a space so tiny it’s roughly the same size as her body, so narrow she can’t even turn around for most of her life.

One policy change from a company like Costco can make a lifetime of difference for hundreds of thousands of animals. Thank you for helping us end this inhumane practice once and for all.
