Message to our Change.org petition supporters: We have good news, even better news, and bad news. The bad news is that the lobbying of the outdoor industry --including IMBA’s letter of opposition—is making it unlikely that H.R. 1349 is going to come to a vote in the full House of Representatives. Yes, this is a low blow, and we have a suggestion below about what you can do now to help. The good news is that over 7,360 riders support the Sustainable Trails Coalition’s position, and we're sure that IMBA will hear this loud and clear. We are now closing down the poll and sending the final numbers and message to IMBA. We thank you for this support and know it will make a difference. The even better news is that the Sustainable Trails Coalition (STC) is undaunted and continues to work in Washington. The difficulties H.R. 1349 is experiencing still leaves the campaign to restore mountain biking access to Wilderness with good options. However, It is imperative that IMBA not oppose future efforts in 2018 and beyond – and it would be even better if IMBA supported them! This is where you come IN– and it’s important that you act now. We recommend that you reach out to IMBA’s Chairman, Chris Conroy, and let him personally know that you wish IMBA to support STC’s efforts to allow bicycles in Wilderness on a case by case basis.
