Okay. So we have news that Ice age 5 is going to be made. Chris Wedge is probably going to be director, but if not, this petition will include that as well. The main goal of this petition is to fix the problems that have been reoccurring with the Ice Age series. If you dislike the Ice age series, please leave now. This is not a revolt against the Ice Age films. Like I said, it is to fix the problems with the series. The problems are:

1. Directors and writers: Over the past Ice age sequels, they've been getting new directors that keep changing the movies along with the characters. This has caused too many changes to the story, thematically and character-wise, since the tone from the Original movie was lost as the new writers went for a more comedic bent instead of the dramady tone of the first movie.  The writers for the other sequels change too much of the story, and make it too unrealistic (for instance, the dinosaurs in Dawn of the Dinosaurs) and as such, the latter movies feel inconsistent in regards to the Original. The original trio (Manny/Sid/Diego) have had major changes that don’t interest fans of the original.  Bringing back the original three writers would help them a lot.

2. Characters: There are way too many characters being added, especially just for popularity. These characters include Ethan (Drake), teenagers (Nicki Minaj), Shira (Jennifer Lopez), etc. All these characters are not needed and could be played by some more experienced voice actors. The exception would be Jennifer Lopez, but still, it's used as a popularity gag.

3. Story potential: Over these past sequels, they have never used the story potential laid out for them. Roshan is a prime example of this problem. Roshan was a lovable and important character in the first film, but was never seen or mentioned in any sequel. Adding him to another sequel could have fixed another problem wrong with this series.  Also, it would provide fans a dream come true, since some have been waiting since the Meltdown to see him.  

4. Emotional Scenes: The first movie almost had me in tears in a few scenes. None of the sequels made me sad or made me care about the other characters. The closest sad sequel scene would have to be Ellie's past. It had the potential of being an emotional scene like in the first movie, but it didn't expand more upon it and ended too short. Not enough information was given to provide us with a sad back story to provide character development.
