Hi Team members,
Would you believe that most Australian Banks will not fund coal or gas projects? Yet they don’t realise that blackouts will completely shut down the financial sector. The Banks could actually be putting a noose around their and their customers necks.
The Labor Party has a policy of 82% of the National Electricity market being produced by renewables by 2030. This is Labor in Wonderland when you look at the AEMO dashboard today.
30th Oct 3.30pm EDST. Batteries 0%, Biomass 0%, Black Coal 34%, Brown Coal 11%, Gas 3%, Hydro 12% Diesel 0% Solar 21%, Wind 18% (The unreliables Solar and Wind total of 39%, but for how long? As soon as the Sun sets, the solar contribution will be zero for the next 15 hours),
I believe that it is impossible, for the Labor Party to reach their target of 82% by 2030. That means from 7pm tonight to 7pm 2030, requires an increase of 64% of wind electricity, in seven years an impossibility.
THE TRANSITION TO RENEWABLES WILL TURN OUT TO BE A TRANSITION TO POVERTY UNLESS IT IS STOPPED.
Particularly as the Wind Turbine Industry (particularly offshore Wind Factories) is on the point of financial collapse. 'Is crisis at Siemens Energy symptom of a wider wind power problem?' https://www.theguardian.com/environment/2023/oct/27/is-crisis-at-siemens-energy-symptom-of-a-wider-wind-power-problem
And don’t forget how rolling blackouts will affect everybody, financial systems will suddenly close down, Banks, Shopping Centres, Cafe', manufacturers, just everything will be unable to trade or operate, particularly with a lack of refrigeration leading to widespread food spoilage in both Supermarkets, cafes and homes, leading to food shortages. High rise buildings, apartments and homes will become uninhabitable. Such simple items such as garage doors will not open. Schools will need to close, traffic chaos will ensure as traffic lights will shut down, boom gates will stay down, street and all lighting will be out, TV, telecommunications and the NBN will shut down, the supply of water will be interrupted and sewerage services will backup. Hospitals, nursing homes and people relying on heating, cooling or life maintaining devices may die.
This is happening already overseas. ‘Blackout Transition: Intermittent Wind & Solar Power Surge Wrecking California’s Grid’ https://stopthesethings.com/2023/03/05/blackout-transition-intermittent-wind-solar-power-surge-wrecking-californias-grid/
It then becomes vitally important that our current coal fired power stations be kept running and the closed ones restarted.
Please promote our petition as widely as possible. https://www.change.org/p/blackouts-will-be-devastating-they-must-be-avoided-at-all-costs I would value it if you are able to donate $20 or $50 to promote the petition on Change.org and also promote it on Facebook, Twitter, Whatsapp or Email.
KEEP INFORMED BY DAILY MONITORING THE AEMO DATA DASHBOARD. And alert your friends to watch the AEMO dashboard, the more they know what's happening the better.
Particularly at 7pm and 7am (Or a time that suits you?) watch (and record) the mix of coal, gas hydro, batteries, solar and wind generation and the prices per MWh for each State on the AEMO dashboard.
Example:22nd Oct 9.30pm EDST. Batteries 0%, Biomass 0%, Black Coal 47%, Brown Coal 15%, Gas 5%, Hydro 10% Diesel 0% Solar 0%, Wind 23% (The unreliables Solar and Wind total of 23%),
Solar will always be zero at this time as the Sun has set. (Is it not madness, to have an electricity generator that can only at maximum, produce electricity for nine hours a day? The other fifteen hours of a day it produces zero electricity).
But if it was a calm night as well, then the AEMU would be needing those coal fired generators to be filling the gap left by the unreliables. Unreliables can be cheap for a few hours. But it is the average over 24hrs, that matters on your electricity bill.
We are up to 2,385 signatures, let’s increase it by many more, everyone’s future depends on it. Continue to spread the word, to all family, friends, anyone you meet, particularly discuss it with shop and business owners. Ask the question, “How do you plan to cope when the blackouts come? Are you thinking of buying a generator? I’m revising my thoughts about the portable generator, but I have gas for cooking and heating. WE MUST KEEP THOSE COAL FIRED GENERATORS GOING.
