Petition updateBLACKOUTS WILL BE DEVASTATING! THEY MUST BE AVOIDED AT ALL COSTSINFO 05 THE TRANSITION TO UNRELIABLES SHOULD BE ABANDONED AS IT IS RISKING OUR FOOD SUPPLY.

Hi Team members,

The most essential renewable energy is food. Without food for humans and animals their life cannot be sustained. The land that grows food is the most important item in the world, it is a natural resource and if it is protected and nourished, it will renew its fertility and it will grow food forever.

Agricultural land is in limited supply, it does not reproduce itself and once lost is very difficult if not impossible to recover. It must be protected at all costs from being wasted thoughtlessly.

It must not be covered thoughtlessly with short term, Solar factories, Wind factories, Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) and High Voltage (HV) Transmission Lines. All these only have a short ten-to-fifteen-year lifespan, after which they become renewable energy grave yards. Removing the possibility of agricultural production from the land forever.

Australia has other sources of fuel for electricity production that does not require the ruination of our extremely valuable and limited agricultural land.

1.     Australia has the third largest reserves of coal in the World. With reserves of 75,428 million tonnes (Mt) of black coal and 73,865 Mt of brown coal.

2.     Australia produces (for domestic consumption and export) approximately 5EJ p.a. of natural gas and has over 20 years of supply available – without any further exploration and development.

3.     Australia's known uranium resources are the world's largest – almost one-third of the world total. n 2022 Australia produced 4820 tonnes of U3O8 (4087 tU). In 2022 it was the world’s fourth ranking producer, producing 8% of global uranium. Because of the ban on using uranium in Australia for electricity production, all uranium produced was exported.

THESE OTHER RESOURCES SHOULD BE USED TO GENERATE POWER AND THE TRANSITION TO RENEWABLES SHOULD BE ABANDONED.

It then becomes vitally important that our current coal fired power stations be kept running and the closed ones restarted.

Please promote our petition as widely as possible. https://www.change.org/p/blackouts-will-be-devastating-they-must-be-avoided-at-all-costs I would value it if you are able to donate $20 or $50 to promote the petition on Change.org and also promote it on Facebook, Twitter, Whatsapp or Email.

KEEP INFORMED BY DAILY MONITORING THE AEMO DATA DASHBOARD. And alert your friends to watch the AEMO dashboard, the more know what's happening the better.

Particularly at 7pm and 7am (Or a time that suits you?) watch (and record) the mix of coal, gas hydro, batteries, solar and wind generation and the prices per MWh for each State on the AEMO dashboard.

Example:22nd Oct 9.30pm EDST. Batteries 0%, Biomass 0%, Black Coal 47%, Brown Coal 15%, Gas 5%, Hydro 10% Diesel 0% Solar 0%, Wind 23% (The unreliables Solar and Wind total of 23%),

Solar will always be zero at this time as the Sun has set. (Is it not madness, to have an electricity generator that can only at maximum, produce electricity for nine hours a day? The other fifteen hours of a day it produces zero electricity).

But if it was a calm night as well, then the AEMU would be needing those coal fired generators to be filling the gap left by the unreliables. Unreliables can be cheap for a few hours. But it is the average over 24hrs, that matters on your electricity bill.

We are up to 2,341 signatures, let’s increase it by many more, everyone’s future depends on it. Continue to spread the word, to all family, friends, anyone you meet, particularly discuss it with shop and business owners. Ask the question, “How do you plan to cope when the blackouts come? Are you thinking of buying a generator? I have and it’s really not practicable. WE MUST KEEP THOSE GENERATORS GOING.
