Petition to The Recording Academy to Create a Best Music Supervision in Visual Media Grammy

In today’s music industry, the music supervisor, the person responsible for the selection, arrangement, production and in many cases, promotion of music, for TV, film, games and advertising is a vital, creative and important position in today's music industry.

Music supervisors represent a crucial component in the creation, selection and usage of music in visual media, and excellence in this field should be accorded recognition by the music industry at large.  

Moreover, their work is one of the main ways the mass market finds out about new bands and music - they are today's musical tastemakers, and in a world that's visual and interactive, they are the people who ensure music enhances the visual and interactive experience.

It is the importance or music supervisors and the work they do that compels me to urge The Recording Academy to create a new Grammy award category, "Best Music Supervision in Visual Media."
