The Issue
Kavita Kumari,a trainee female sub-inspector(SI), Bihar Police got physically and mentally harassed at workplace. She got COVID-19 infected doing his duty during nationwide lockdown. As soon as she recovered from COVID-19 disease, she joined his duty with the zeal of serving the society in this pandemic. His male batch mate, who is also a trainee along with SHO (in-charge) of the Fakuli(Muzaffarpur,Bihar)police station, where she is posted not only verbally abused her but also shame breached.When her husband came to rescue her, he was thrashed. The incident is also reported in national and state level news papers and channels(see links). Why a patriot,dutiful lady has to be harassed in our country?What is the meaning of "Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao" slogan? If women continued to be treated like second class citizen in our country, how can India progress? If a female police itself are not safe, how other girls of our society shall feel safe?Such a shame.Higher authorities are also trying hard to dilute the issue.Please sign petition in more and more number so that authorities feel pressure of public and take strict action on the culprits.
Update:As per new update,Ganesh Kumar, IG-Tirhut Range,Bihar states that there is no solid proof of the incident. Although, her husband is having injury marks on his face and she has also attached documents Covid-19 treatment related. Clearly, Police Department is trying to dilute the issue and compelling the victims to comprise with culprits. Culprits must be punished as per CrPC.
