Hi, everyone. Thank you, as always, for your support of,
"Thyroid Patients Need Better Treatment NOW," the petition
I started in memory of my brother, Jordan, whom I miss each day. Sorry I haven't given an update for awhile.
Not surprisingly, my own thyroid medicine situation has been
giving me a hard time, so that makes it harder for me sometimes
to compose a good update and think how I want to work things
next, regarding this petition. In the meantime, I've just been quietly
trying to keep submitting my petition to different websites and
such, to get more signatures....
I'd love it if we could get to 5,000 signatures before I submit it
to the White House, but I don't know if that's possible, given my
lack of financial resources to really promote it more--and it gets hard
for me to think of different places to submit it, as well. I'm always
open to ideas on that, by the way. If any of you have suggestions
about different places where I might submit the petition, please
let me know. And if you think of somewhere different to share
it yourself, here is the petition link:
https://www.change.org/ThyoidBetterTreatment
My plan at the moment is to give myself until early November,
to get whatever signatures I can, and then send a copy of everything
to the White House...the petition itself, all the signatures, and
the comments any of you have submitted about the petition
when you signed it. If I can at least get around 3,500 signatures
(which seems attainable), I'll settle for that. The more signatures,
the better, though, so I'll keep trying. I want to get something in
to the President and his people before the holidays really start up,
and everyone starts going on vacation.
I'll continue trying to get more signatures after that, too, and I can
send them an updated version of what I've got, later on. But I
really want the White House to see that we are working on this;
that our thyroid issues do matter to people; and that we really
want and NEED some changes made, in all of this.
Thank you again, so much for your support. I think Jordan would
be glad that we're working on this, because he was a kind person
with a great sense of humor--and he'd never want anyone to suffer
or be stressed out over thyroid problems...not our family;
not yours; not anyone's. Let's keep working on this, and once
again, I'm posting a favorite picture of Jordan and me, as it
does make me smile. My best to you....from Jordan's sister, Starr D.
