Better Handling Times for Amazon Prime members in Puerto Rico (2021 Update)

Better Handling Times for Amazon Prime members in Puerto Rico (2021 Update)
(UPDATED) Amazon Prime membership for Puerto Rico residents cost $12.99 a month or $119 a year just like any other Amazon Prime member in any other state. Puerto Rico's main carrier is USPS which is available through Amazon.com and also UPS which has routes in Puerto Rico. Even so, Amazon does not provide similar to equal benefits as other Prime members in the United States. In 2017, any item purchased through Amazon and sold directly by Amazon.com had three options for shipping: Free Standard Shipping (7-10 days), 2-Day Air via UPS for $6.99 and Next Day Air for $12.99 (in some items). Now, there are only two options available, Free Prime Delivery with no guaranteed delivery date and Standard International Shipping which cost varies depending on items in order, but also with no guaranteed delivery date. After Hurricane Maria, most of these benefits went away, and it was understandable for the first couple of months, but ever since, Amazon has not been the same, and the benefits have been less and less every time. But the real problem with Amazon Prime for Puerto Rico residents, is that orders placed with a Puerto Rico address do not get the same handling time as orders placed to U.S. addresses. We understand that shipping to Puerto Rico won't be the same as to the 48 contiguous states by the simple fact that we are not on the mainland. Then again, the problem with orders placed to Puerto Rico addresses, is that orders are not handled and processed by Amazon employees as fast as orders to U.S. addresses which does not make any sense because that is under the control of Amazon and not an external company or third party like USPS, UPS, etc. Amazon employees in Amazon warehouses should be able to process and handle an order to be shipped to a Puerto Rico address in 24 hours or less just like they do with orders placed to U.S. addresses. If this is changed, and orders to Puerto Rico are processed and handled within 24 hours, all packages could arrive in less than 7 days through USPS services. Now, every order placed to a Puerto Rico address takes more than 14 days to arrive and sometimes up to a month. And yes, these times are based on orders fulfilled by Amazon and/or bought directly to Amazon, which makes Amazon completely responsable and not a third party seller. Sometimes third party sellers could ship items faster than Amazon itself. This makes less sense when there was even articles written in local news about Amazon purchasing a plane for exclusive use for Puerto Rico orders, even with that, orders are taking way longer than before and ordering with Amazon has become more of a stress than a commodity.
We want Amazon, Jeff Bezos (founder, previous CEO), Andy Jassy (current President & CEO) or any person that could make decisions for Amazon to take action on this matter. Make the handling process faster for orders to Puerto Rico so we can continue to use Amazon as our main source to purchase items online.
