Support our Children of Berkeley Heights…AKA SUPERHEROES!

Our children are enduring something generations living today have never had to go through and hopefully will not again.  What they have gone through in the last year makes them true SUPERHEROES. They are going through so much each day using strength and resilience.

Let us honor them as we have with so many other HEROS from this year.  Let us not make their return to school in the fall anything but NORMAL, it’s the least we can do for them!

Our growing support continues, the signatures are adding up!!  We need to continue the positive momentum for positive change.

The petition is supported by like-minded people like yourself. We all want the absolute best for our children.

The idea that a change as paramount as this could be considered following the recent year we have had is beyond comprehension.  Troubling.   The mental stress of 2020 is and will have impacts on our children.  To try to convince parents and a community such a change on young children having to move to a new school following a year where they barely attended will not be impactful is literally absurd.  We are all saddened by even the thought that this is being considered with only 2 months left of the year.

Again, this petition is not against FDK, it is the timing and the way this has been handled by the BOE.

IF YOU ARE ASKIGN YOURSELF HOW CAN I HELP:

1-       PLEASE tell 5 friends, ask them to sign the petition along with their spouse or partners.  Then ask the same of them please tell 5 more people.

2-       Write letters to each member of the school board, address your concerns, provide constructive criticism and ideas for positive change, let them know we do not want this implemented or considered following the 2020/2021 school year.

3-       Respond to social media, post a comment or article, use platforms available to you to share your thoughts on the matter, the more exposure the better to draw continued attention.

4-       Volunteer to help spread the word at the email below.

Lastly there is communication circulating around town to individuals not to consider this petition. This tells us the petition is having an impact, thank you for your support LET’S KEEP IT GOING!

To reiterate this petition was started as the BOE was not forthcoming about their plans.  It was started with a high level of confidence after sources in the community confirmed to multiple individuals here in town of the BOE plans and intentions.  They have submitted the numbers for construction in the budget and their plans are made.

We must stand united and not be fooled, they cannot take parents and taxpayers of this community for granted.    They have moved ahead with great intent to make this happen while discarding the mental wellbeing of our children following such a stressful and upside-down year.

Here are the Board members and the Superintendent email addresses. – PLEASE WRITE TO EACH MEMBER INDIVIDUALLY below to make a difference!
