Benton County, Iowa is being targeted by an industrial-scale solar energy project. The proposed project will potentially destruct thousands of acres of highly productive agricultural and rural land to develop a massive solar power plant.

This solar project would allow for installation of large numbers of solar panels on farmland, and rural land. Our environment, wildlife, resident property values, and potentially human health could be harmed.

We support upholding our Agricultural Land Preservation Ordinance and oppose industrial-scale solar on agriculture/rural lands in Benton County, Iowa.
