Greetings,
As most of you are probably aware, Mayor McAdams of Salt Lake County vetoed the Olympia Hills zoning ordinance on Friday morning. This is fantastic news! No doubt this is a result of all of you that spoke out in opposition through this petition, emails, phone calls, and participation in the town hall meeting Thursday night. Thank you all for coming together as a community against this proposal and thank you Mayor McAdams for hearing our voices!
While the veto is a huge win, we are not out of the woods yet. The Salt Lake County Council now has 15 days to decide if they want to challenge the Mayor's Veto. While we are very hopeful that they do not make the mistake of doing this, we cannot back down just yet. However, we cannot keep moving forward without your help!
If any of you are willing to contribute time as a signature collector, please contact our group at slcoresidents@gmail.com. We have made it as simple as possible and can provide all the info and step by step instructions, but we cannot do this alone. Please reach out and help us make sure that the nearly 300,000 residents of the southwest valley have a stronger voice than the 9 members of the Salt Lake County Council.
Please reach out to slcoresidents@gmail.com to help! Thank you!
