Hey everyone. Well, as you probably know by now, the Board of Selectmen did not receive our petition and its 500+ signatures with open minds or open ears. In fact, as the Belmontonian reported, the reception was downright hostile. But we're not going to let some petulant Selectmen dissuade us. We're moving ahead with a citizens petition to call a Special Town Meeting to resolve this dispute and restore the original plan for Belmont Center. We need 200 signatures to force the Selectmen to call a meeting and we need to get them fast. To jump start things, I'm hosting a petition signing party this Saturday at my house, starting at 3:00 PM and running until whenever ...8:00 PM? My address is: 54 Cross Street, Belmont. Stop by any time during those hours to sign the petition, have some pizza and socialize, gripe and meet your fellow petitioners. Let's try to get these signatures by end of weekend!
