Bellway's contractors are currently on site carrying out works to the play equipment and surfacing. A final post-installation report will then need to be provided to the council, confirming all works have been undertaken and the equipment and play areas are safe. It is hoped that the LEAP (smaller play area on the housing site) could be opened within a couple of weeks. Three Rivers have commissioned a study regarding the drainage on the Horses' Field site. Depending on the outcome, longer term work maybe required, however, we are trying to find solutions to allow the play area to be made safe and open in the short term while we continue to investigate the drainage. However we are all quite clear that neither play area will be opened until an independent inspector says it is safe.
