Recall Judge Eric Moye

Dalls, TX Salon owner Shelley Luther was sentenced to a week in jail by Judge Eric Moye for daring to do business at her establishment.  Judge Moye told Ms. Luther she was “selfish,” and said a fine with an apology would be acceptable, otherwise she would face a week in jail.  Ms. Luther responded that she disagreed in his assessment that she was selfish, stating that the need to work and feed her children was not selfish, but instead her right.  Due to Ms. Luther’s refusal to apologize for trying to earn a living, she is now spending a week behind bars.  This sets a very dangerous precedent, as it reflects a gross misuse of judicial power, and in his ruling, Judge Moye has demonstrated that he is willing to waste tax payers’ money by incarcerating business owners for their honest attempts to survive financially.  This overreach of government power impedes on a citizen’s basic rights to Life.  Furthermore, this ruling affects independent business owners throughout our nation and must not be tolerated. Judge Eric Moye is dangerously unfit to continue serving and needs to be removed from the bench.

Please voice your outrage at this event by sending tweets to TX Senators Ted Cruz @TedCruz and John Cornyn @JohnCornyn and TX Governor Greg Abbott @GovAbbott and GregAbbott_TX

Our leaders must be made aware the public’s need for continued monitoring of our judiciary, and more importantly, the public’s right to exercise the rights we have according to the Constitution, most importantly the right to earn a living and feed our children. If you don’t own a business, you know someone who does. Your voice matters!
