Please sign the Queensland Parliament petition "QBCC REFORM" to help me to help all Queensland Homeowners. Currently we have 579 votes but we need to send a clear to the Housing Minister Sam O'Connor and David Crisafulli that QLD Homeowners demand to be protected.
The QBCC continues to fail homeowners through lengthy delays, inconsistent discretionary decision-making, and its interpretation and application of the legislation. These issues undermine confidence in the regulatory system and leave many homeowners without timely or effective support.
The building industry continues to be affected by unlicensed operators and individuals who scam innocent homeowners or lack the necessary skills and qualifications to complete building work to an acceptable standard. Stronger regulatory oversight and enforcement are essential to protect consumers and maintain industry standards.
Homeowners must be provided with effective protection through a fair, transparent, and consistent claims process. Claims should be assessed on their merits and within reasonable timeframes to ensure defective building work is rectified promptly and appropriately. The regulator must take greater responsibility for addressing these systemic issues, strengthening compliance, and restoring public confidence in Queensland's building industry.
You can find the petition on our Facebook page (QBCC Reform) or Qld Parliament website. ( I can't post the link on this page.
