I wish to extend my appreciation to QBCC Commissioner Angelo Lambrinos for the time given to both my husband and me last week in supporting change and reform within the Queensland Building and Construction Commission (QBCC). We were able to not only present issues but also highlight key challenges faced by homeowners, trades, and small businesses (HTS), along with constructive ideas for improving the system.
While one meeting could not cover everything, Commissioner Lambrinos has requested further independent consultations, which we welcome and look forward to contributing to with additional insights and supporting information.
I also appreciate the opportunity to participate as a consumer advocate in the QBCC Commissioner Roundtable alongside other individuals and stakeholders. For me, this forum is about providing constructive feedback, supporting positive change, and ensuring homeowners - many of whom have faced significant struggles - to be properly heard- adequately represented within the broken system and receive procedural fairness.
As a Consumer Advocate at the QBCC Commissioner's Roundtable, I will continue to raise issues, propose solutions, and collaborate with others to address the growing concerns within the building industry.
