In the racing video game Need for Speed: Unbound, developed by Criterion and published by Electronic Arts, the game is home to plenty of obnoxious quips from the AI racers, from the horrifically earbleeding “NaHT bAd! BuT I cAn Do bETtA!” Said by Waru, with his hilariously bad fake Australian accent on full display, or Del-Rae’s “GoOD! I’ve bEeN wRAiTiNg fOr a CHARRENGE!” and more. Criterion for some reason, have not implemented a mute button for these specific lines. Sure, you can just mute character voices, which does solve the problem, but with that, you lose the ability to hear characters outside of the races, like Tess and Rydell, who are actually likable. This petition is intended to get Criterion’s attention so they can add a switch in Unbound’s settings to turn these voices off so we don’t have to sacrifice characters outside of races, but focus on the AI INSIDE of races.

Random side note: Replaying NFS Heat made me genuinely euphoric when I didn’t hear any random witty quips from drivers, like I actually let out a smile when the only thing that could be heard was my cars engine and tires.
