Jeff & Tasha, there really is only one timely option - "Land Fill" or in this case "Rock Fill" to the parking containment area that was created by the same method approximately 50 years ago for 60 vehicles. Let's improve it to 160 Vehicles for the next 50 years. Respectfully, the current FAC Chair and CRD Director have been on the FAC for 12+ years and we have arrived at this juncture. Is anyone expecting positive results from these two individuals in continuing in that capacity? Great individuals but their record of improving our Ferry Service on and off Salt Spring Island for the last 12 years speaks for itself. It's time for change on the FAC which has some great and solid volunteers. The piece in the Driftwood last week 24 August 2022 conveys a very plausible option in the name of Public Safety and restores the Village of Fulford for all to enjoy. If Campaigned diligently in this Election by the CRD Candidates and Islands Trust Trustees there's a possibility to have this included in the Capital Project Budget for 2023-27. Chair Joy MacPhail was chosen to help right the ship at BCF. Her first of many moves to come, happened on July 22, 2022 within a month of being appointed. Next up is the passage of Bill 7 this Fall amending the Coastal Ferry Act and how BCF does business. Now is not the time for the largest Island in terms of population to kick back and hope for Ferry Change, as in the past. It's time for dogged persistence to get our Ferry Terminals at Fulford, Vesuvius, Long Harbour and Crofton & Vessels updated to current acceptable industry standards. Kylie is a very passionate volunteer in Our Community and Petitioner along with 2100+ individuals on "The Fix For Route Six" advocating vociferously for improvements to Route 6 Vesuvius Bay - Crofton & Route 4 Fulford Harbour - Swartz Bay. If your interested in a CRD Director that will Campaign passionately for improvements to our Ferry Service and Infrastructure going forward, consider putting a check mark beside Candidate Kylie Coates for CRD Director - October 15, 2022.
