I have been enjoying the BBC's excellent snooker coverage for many years. The standard of commentary has been top notch for as long as I can remember, no more so than the current team, with the exception of Shaun Murphy. 

The man does not know when to be quiet and allow the viewer to absorb the match, sometimes I wonder if he even has a co-commentator during his breathless rambles. His comments are not insightful in the slightest and he completely ruins the experience of the great game of snooker. It is sad that he is used on the commentary team over veteran pundits who have been doing a superb job for years. 

He may be a decent enough man off the table, and a good player on his day, but that does not make a good commentator. For the good of the BBC's wonderful coverage of snooker Murphy should be removed from commentary.
