Opposing the development of 405 Essa Road in Barrie Ontario
The Issue
This developer plans to build an eight-storey residential condominium building with six-three storey townhouse units and ground floor commercial units on less than an acre of land! This would create an increase in traffic and pedestrian/motor vehicle accidents to the surrounding area of Essa/Ferndale. There has already been insufficient available parking to the prior developments, which has created an overflow of street parking. This overflow impacts the safety of our children, school buses having difficulty maneuvering and city snow removal. This eight-storey condominium will over-tower the surrounding residential homes and will also impact the privacy of the single family homes which are just feet away. In the most recent years Barrie City Councillors and planners have been doing a poor job giving developers the power to build in any neighbourhood and ignoring the residents concerns. A building of this magnitude does not suit the area. Stop the development of 405 Essa Road.
