Dear Friends and Supporters, for Our Resident's Against Abbots Depot Committee sends you 2016 wishes for the New Year. We have been busy submitting our application to the High Court for Judicial Review on the Decision of the Abbots depot and stop the waste entering our lives. We have been lucky so far as we have had pro bono help with our application from the Environmental Law Foundation and two amazing barristers. The Environmental Law Foundation has been helping communities and individuals to understand and use the law to enable them to protect their local environment, often in the face of powerful organisations with large legal budgets. Since 1992 we have provided help directly, and used our established network of legal and technical experts - all willing to give time pro bono - to secure free, expert legal assistance for disadvantaged communities. With their help, we have saved a lot of money but still we need to raise legal and court fees. We thank the people that have donated so far. Our costs and funds raised will be available for everyone to see once I manage to write them all down.
