Dear Friends and Supporters, You are invited on the AGM of the Coppies Grove Residents Association on 20.00pm on 24th August, 2015. The meeting will be held in the Royal British Legion Club in Friern Barnet Road, N11 3DP. We will discuss the Abbotts Waste Depot and how we can object, where we are on the matter and how important it is for everyone to put in an objection. In LBB meeting of 28th July, the motion for the decision of the relocation of the waste depot to be taken again was overruled with the help of our local ward Cllr Lisa Rutter, who has been instrumental in turning our neighbourhood into a dumpster by following her party;s wishes and NOT listening to her ward residents. We were not surprised at all there. RAAD has been leafleting the whole of the ward as well as Oakleigh rd North and South informing everyone about the planning application being submitted and how one can object. Besides one all of the residents commenting on the planning application have objected to the relocation of the waste depot in our area. But one resident has thrown dirt and verbally abused RAAD for trying to protect our neighbourhood. (the communication is at the end of this email as RAAD decided to publish and let you make up your mind) Object to the planning application until 30th August, though Barnet council officers have assured us that ALL planning objections until the planning committee in September 7th will be included. I can see that your support of the Abbots waste depot is based on concrete evidence as well as your accusations that RAAD is scaring little old ladies that LBB will also place an incinerator on the site. We are fine with the likes of you trying to throw dirt at us so please go on distributing the leaflet online as this information has already been sent to about 1500+ emails on our list as well as distributed to the whole of the our ward and Oakleigh rd North and South. Mr Dillon, who has been very helpful in dealing with all the queries we have with the incomplete and amateurish planning application is aware of our leafleting since the 7th of August. What us residents have not received is the so called- LBB consultation leaflet though some of our home addresses are on their lists. Though officers have admitted that they internally had to pay for the distribution- and that was public money. Just for the records as I am not at all convinced that you have read and understood all the 65 documents that are in the planning application - as some of us have- so I would kindly urge you to do so unless of course you blindly want to follow party decisions. I am attaching the RAAD objection and supporting documents. The LBB and the councillors have already received it of course. Enjoy your evening and thanks for sending me the scanned copy of our leaflet. I have to admit that I did not have the time to do so but I will now post on our facebook page thanks to you. BTW our glossy leaflets did cost us all of 52 pounds- none of which is public money but coming out of our own pockets. It does say on the leaflet as well. Kind regards Stamo RAAD On 10 August 2015 at 19:57, James Barton wrote: Dear Councillors, Please note that this email has been Cc’d to RAAD. I have just received through my door a glossy leaflet asking me to oppose the planning application for the Abbots Waste Depot future use. That glossy leaflet must have cost them quite a lot of money. I’m all in favour of the planning proposal, it’ll be very much better than the existing skip lorries and the articulated lorries using the site currently: the current use is a menace. Furthermore I was shocked, shocked and saddened to learn from my elderly neighbours that people opposing the council’s bid to take over the site have been scaremongering by insinuating that the proposal would inevitably lead to an incinerator being placed on the site. This sort of scaremongering is irresponsible and reprehensible. Yours, James Barton.
