STOP POACHING!

Petition to STOP WILDLIFE POACHING!

Many of us have read about US citizen Walter Palmer the killer of Cecil, one of Africa’s most famous lions and the star attraction at the Hwange National Park.

We have read that Mr.Palmer left the lion skinned and headless on the outskirts of the park.(*1) The death of Cecil comes as Zimbabwe, like many countries in Africa, attempts to crack down on illegal hunting and poaching

The death of a radio-tagged lion Cecil prompts calls for EU ban on importing lion trophies. Articles claims that roughly about 200 such lion ‘trophies’ hunters legally import to the EU each year. Germany, France and Spain are the biggest importers.(*2)

We demand European commission must immediately impose an EU ban on all imports of lion body parts and take strong action against worldwide poaching and illegal wildlife trade and activities.

We believes in the statement made by ICJ “The International Court of Justice acts as a world court.therefore we appeals to International court of Justice to look into the matter if it really comes under your jurisdiction. Animal Poaching in a worldwide issue and it should be considered by the International Court of Justice.(*3)

Mozambique shows that between 480 and 900 elephants died in the area between 2011 and 2013.(*4) The world is dealing with an unprecedented spike in illegal wildlife trade, threatening to overturn decades of conservation gains-WWF (*4)

High Profit Margins, Increasing demands and Poor Wildlife laws are the reason of increasing Poaching and wildlife trafficking activities. Getting Poaching Statistics is not that easy but we are sure its increasing every year.

The 15th International Wildlife Law Conference was held in Granada, Spain, 26-27 March 2015 which had brought a big hope towards wildlife law and policy, with an emphasis on enforcement issues. (*5)

Chief of UN Environment Program announced its first UN Resolution on wildlife trafficking in year 2015(*6)

IAPF says Wildlife crime is sweeping the planet. The illegal trafficking of wildlife is now one of the world’s largest criminal industries, with repeated links to terrorism networks.(*7)

Worldwide there are lot of efforts going on to curb this illegal business and as a global citizen its our responsibility that we should participate in building pressure to our policy makers to make this world a beautiful place to live, Live without any cruelty.

Wildlife Poaching brings extinction of animals which may disturb the food chain and ecosystem and finally impacts environment which leads to global warming and climate change beside the illegal money generated from this illegal trade can be use for terrorist activities.

Sign and support the petition. Lets be together to STOP Wildlife POACHING on Globe.
