Bank of America: Stop Charging Overdraft Fees

Working people are losing income and many are without food as a result of the Corona Virus shut-downs across the country, and yet Bank of America continues to charge overdraft fees.

This means that even small stimulus checks and unemployment insurance will go to the bank first. In this time of crisis especially, the Bank of America must stop charging overdraft fees and waive existing fees. Overdraft fees were already bad in normal times, as BOA brings in 1.6 billion in overdraft fees per year. They are even more egregious as unemployment increases and food insecurity spreads.

While BOA is on a list of banks that are waiving fees on a case-by-case basis, at customer request, this is not being adequately publicized, and the policy should be across the board cancellation, not requiring individuals to plead cases to banks.
