Hi, This is with regard to a few concerns that some people have. People have asked us how the metro officials could manage cycles during peak hour times, maximum number of cycles per train, the metro already being crowded etc. As I have already said before, in foreign countries cycles are allowed. Now, let's take a moment to ponder about how they manage to run such a system efficiently and without any problems. Here is how a few of your concerns can be solved: 1. Max 2 cycles should be allowed at the end and the beginning of the train. This prevents overcrowding. Let's say a group of 30 cyclists want to board the metro at the same time. Obviously, all of them cannot fit into the train. This has happened and will happen at some point of time in all metros across the world. Cyclists who come first will be given a priority and cyclists will be allowed to board the metro on a first come first serve basis. This is a solution to prevent the metro to be over crowded with cycles. 2. If too many cycles are brought onto the platform during peak hours this might also be a problem. So, BMRCL is free to impose restrictions like cycles are allowed on between certain hourse (non - peak hours). This solves the problem if too many cycles are brought on to the metro during peak hours. 3. Safety is one of our biggest concerns. People have also said that kids can cause a nuisance. For that reason, we suggest that BMRCL only allows adults (over 18 years old) and if minors want to travel with their cycles, they must be accompanied by an adult. We are in the process of drawing up guidelines for the usage of cycles. We will try and present it to BMRCL who will then decide how to proceed further. As much as we want this to be implemented, safety and security is our biggest concern. If you have any other queries, please do email me at: sanjith.rao2002@hotmail.com Regards, Sanjith
