@Viralhog has gone unchecked for too long.

Here's what I've been told: If you're on any social media platform and you share anything at any time, viralhog may try to take down your account and sue you. They do not respect "fair use" and they make promises to their users that never happens. For years now, users report that they were misled by viralhog and promised things that never happened. I've had people contact me to tell me that viralhog never told them that they would take 100% of their rights away to their videos, viralhog never syndicated anything to TV, viralhog would secretly post the videos to snapchat, Facebook, YouTube without telling the users and keeping all the profits. Those allegations are just what I've heard and if any of this happened to you, please reach out. We're working on something.

Here's what's they tried to do to me: they made 4 copyright strikes against me. 2 of the videos are my videos with my face on it and protected by fair use, but all 4 I have permission to use from the copyright holder. Viralhog notoriously does not respect fair use and does not do due diligence when making claims. If you or I made copyright claims without due diligence, we'd get banned. So why it's viralhog above meta policy? What's to stop viralhog from claiming your videos and taking down your account?

Here's where they really messed up and why you should sign this petition to ask META to ban them: they sent an unauthorized copyright claim on behalf of user Jake Queen against his wishes and behind his back, to me. Jake provided proof that Viralhog had previously promised Jake that they will NOT make any copyright claims on his behalf without his approval.

This promise was made to the copyright holder prior to sending me an unauthorized copyright claim, but viralhog submitted one anyway. 

When I provided them the proof that they had no right to do that, they threw Jake under the bus and told me to "deal with him" I assume they suggested I sue their customer.

That's how slimy this company is. They completely skip over the fact that they made an UNAUTHORIZED and FALSE copyright claim that the copyright owner did not permit them to make. That is directly against META terms of service. According to META rules, Viralhog should now be banned and legal action taken against them. But it hasn't happened because viralhog allegedly has many friends at META that allow Viralhog to be above accountability.

This is another video that Viralhog did a copyright strike against and as you can see, the copyright owner told Viralhog that I had permission to use the video before them and that they must release the copyright claim against me. Do you know what Viralhog said? They said No. They will not retract the copyright claim even though the copyright owner wants them to. Did you know that viralhog can make legal decisions for their users that directly contradict what the users want? Because Jacob didn't. Neither did any of their users. Viralhog wants to sell the video back to me instead. A video that I have permission to use.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

This is regarding the 3rd copyright strike viralhog made against me. Notice how every single copyright owner is telling them to stop? Amanda is correct. The video I posted, with direct permission from her was on the day it occurred because it was a video where I identified someone and it is common that I do that on the same exact day it occurs. My video was even dated before viralhog got involved. In fact, because it was taken down on Amanda's page, it was likely that viralhog had seen the video on my page originally. 

 

 

 

Suddenly, permission from the user isn't good enough unless she can prove it, otherwise viralhog will make legal decisions on her behalf that are directly against her wishes.

 

 

 

Except that, Amanda included my video as an exception when she originally signed with viralhog. 

 

 

 

As you see, Amanda followed their directions and even if she didn't, the rules that viralhog mention in the contract clearly state that if a video was taken down in error, they will simply restore it. Then why is it so hard to get viralhog to do what the user wants?

 

 

 

And now, faced with all the evidence and left with no other choice, but to restore my video, Viralhog has the audacity to victimize themselves. As a reminder, they've wasted an entire week of work for me and put my monetization at risk because they made copyright strikes on behalf of a user who they promised not to make any more strikes on behalf of and were not permitted to make and in 2 videos against my original content protected by fair use and lastly against a video I was given permission to use prior. Yet they have the audacity to act like I'm harming their business. They haven't learned anything and do not seem to care about copyright laws or fair use laws.

What's to stop them from doing this against your content or anyone else's? How difficult would it be for you to fight them for your own content? I had all the resources and followed fair use act and have direct permission from all users and I still had to fight alongside the copyright owners to get half my videos back.

This digital mafia style content extortion needs to come to an end immediately.

Please sign this petition to DEMAND that viralhog is treated like the rest of us and that there will be accountability for their years of copyright abuse, but specifically against these VERY CLEAR unauthorized and illegal copyright claim they made against me. Otherwise, with free range to make unauthorized copyright claims, and their unproven claims and promises of making users rich, viralhog could potentially control every social media platform and be the only entity profiting from social media for content they never even created.

META please ban @Viralhog for making false copyright claims, abusing users on your platform by scamming them out of their content, and claiming ownership of content protected by "fair use." 

Like it says in META's policy, they should be punished to the fullest extent of the law
