1700 signatures, as I write, is excellent. As law change is a primary tool for controlling vaping, and a national election looms, letting MPs know our views is vital and simple, local MPs, the Minister of Health Ayesha Verrall, the PM Chris Hipkins, the Minister of Justice Kiri Allen, other leaders in National, Greens et al, with contact details easy to access online. Similarly contacting the media, RNZ, Stuff, editors, local councils as they have roles in licencing etc, discussing the issue with our friends and children, and more signatures are all helpful. We can make change!

The national and local governments have a duty of care to protect citizens health. In supporting vaping and vape corporations with the current and amended legislation this role is absent in the current government. The new amendment is ineffective tweaking eg the 300m rule with existing shops to remain.

Suing a government for facilitating this harmful practice using class action is possible but costly and difficult.

Publicity and voter opinion can be powerful in creating change.

Best wishes
