Ban Vagrancy from infiltrating our neighborhoods

Ban Vagrancy from infiltrating our neighborhoods
The Issue

As a 5th generation Ventura resident and a mother of 2 along with my husband and fellow likeminded community members, I am petitioning to The City of Ventura to put an end to the severe vagrant issue we are experiencing here. Not only are they inundating our streets and neighborhoods, parking lots and parks but the extent of what they bring around our neighborhoods is out of control. I myself can testify that we have had multiple drug deals and taking of drugs happen right outside our front door. We have witnessed vagrants exchange gruesome sexual acts in exchange for drugs and money, we have been stolen from and even had a vagrant attempt to break into our house in broad daylight while I was home and then threaten that she would be back in the morning. We’ve had enraged vagrants screaming outside our bedroom windows that they are murderers and will shoot the children in addition to living and stashing their belongings in the shrubbery directly across from our patio. We’ve had encampments on our pathways and watched as vagrants passed out on the grass next to our driveway and refuse to leave. I find it interesting that it is illegal for them to lay and make camp on the government center lawn yet they can line our streets and neighborhoods, entrances to grocery stores and workplaces without so much as a slap on the hand. We adults do not feel safe enough at any hour of the day/night let alone safe enough to take our children outside to play. If this is continued to be allowed then it is a matter of time before Ventura is just like Los Angeles and we’re only just a stones throw away from it. Enough is enough. Time for the City of Ventura to actually get to work and do something about it. Please join me in putting an end to this issue. Here are a few email addresses you can send your complaints and concerns too.
