The Issue

I have a personal story to share, one that resonates with many students across the country. I absolutely detest both IXL and iReady. These online learning platforms are not only frustrating but also ineffective in providing quality education.

IXL's practice problems are repetitive and do not promote critical thinking, while iReady's lessons often feel disconnected from what students learn in class. Both platforms use a one-size-fits-all approach that fails to cater to individual learning styles or needs.

According to a study by the National Education Policy Center, there is little evidence supporting the effectiveness of these online programs (National Education Policy Center, 2019). Instead of enhancing learning, they seem to be causing more harm than good - increasing stress levels among students and contributing to an unhealthy focus on rote memorization rather than understanding concepts.

We need our schools to prioritize effective teaching methods that engage students and foster a love for learning rather than relying on impersonal digital platforms. It's time we put an end to this unnecessary frustration caused by IXL and iReady.

Please join me in urging our educational institutions to ban these platforms from their curriculum. Sign this petition today!
