We’re pleased to announce that both the Millers Point Community Residents Action Group and the Walsh Bay Residents Association have now joined forces with Barangaroo residents to support this petition. Together, we are lobbying the EPA to install noise-detecting cameras in the area — taking a whole-of-peninsula approach to this issue.

Report Noise from Motor Vehicles
The City of Sydney has a link on their website for reporting excessive noise from motor vehicles.
You can report excessive noise including:
Noise from horns, brakes, or a refrigerator left running on a parked truck
Engine or muffler noise
Deliberately revving engines
Loud sound systems
While it may feel like no action is being taken, reporting is crucial.

What you need to do (Information from the City of Sydney website):
1. Noisy engines and exhausts
· Residents can report vehicles with noisy engines and exhaust systems to the Environment Protection Authority (EPA) on 131 555
· You’ll need to provide the vehicle’s registration number, make, model, and colour, and note when and where the incident occurred.
· Police and the EPA can require vehicles to be inspected and tested for compliance with noise-control regulations.
· They also have the power to issue on -the-spot-fines to motorists who have illegally modified noise-reduction equipment on their car or motorcycle.
2. Dangerous driving and horns
· Police can respond to complaints about deliberately noisy and dangerous driving, illegal sounding of horns, and offensive noise from motor vehicle sound systems.

4. Alarms, sound systems, and vehicle refrigerators
· The City of Sydney can respond to complaints about offensive noise from car alarms , sound systems, and vehicle refrigerators (trucks and vans) that can be heard indoors.
· To report excessive noise from these sources, you can contact the City of Sydney at any time.
