Dear fellow citizens,

We are all aware of the burden that federal and state income taxes place on our hard-earned money. It is time to take action and demand change. I know 1/3 go 1/4 of my paychecks go to the government. When did I start working for them, and they stopped working for the people?

In Fiscal Year 2023, the Federal Government has collected nearly FOUR TRILLION dollars in tax revenue, and nearly FIVE TRILLION in FY 2022. If that isn't MORE than enough to run this country, then there ought to be an investigation into how its all being spent. 

How much of that money has been handed to corrupt Ukrainian and Russian politicians or oligarchs? When is enough, enough? How much of our time and hard earned money do we have to give up, forfeit without will, while watching corporations and banks get bailed out, or given further opportunities for loopholes, before WE THE PEOPLE put our representatives in line?

Did you know that Americans spend an average of 8.9 billion hours each year preparing their tax returns? This is a significant waste of time and resources that could be better spent on building a home, a family, a community even. 

Furthermore, the current tax system is incredibly complex, with numerous deductions, exemptions, and loopholes. This complexity leads to confusion and frustration for taxpayers, as well as opportunities for abuse by those who can afford expensive accountants or lawyers.

It is also worth noting that income taxes are not the only source of government revenue. There are other forms of taxation such as sales tax, property tax, and corporate tax which can be used to fund government programs without placing an undue burden on individual taxpayers.

By signing this petition, we demand that our elected officials take action to abolish federal and state income taxes. We believe that a simpler, fairer system can be created which will benefit all Americans.
