Ban Malaysian Teachers From Exploiting School Children for Their TikTok Content!

The Issue

To: MINISTRY OF EDUCATION MALAYSIA

We, the undersigned, present to you a pressing concern regarding the abhorrent use of innocent students for the self-promoting purposes of teachers on the social media platform TikTok. As esteemed members of the academic community, and parents, we hold the belief that every student deserves the utmost respect and dignity, and that it is the responsibility of teachers to protect their students from all harm. Unfortunately, the phenomenon of teachers utilizing their students for content on TikTok is an egregious violation of these principles. Furthermore, the exploitation of power and disregard for students' wellbeing by teachers, who seek to amass likes and followers, creates a dangerous environment in which innocent children are exposed to the perils of online predators.

It is imperative that swift action be taken to address these concerns and to restore a safe and respectful learning environment. The use of students for content on TikTok poses a serious threat to the emotional wellbeing, academic performance, and reputation of the students involved. Additionally, it has the potential to expose these students to the grave danger of online child predators who utilize social media to target their victims.

We respectfully implore the Ministry of Education Malaysia to enact measures that address these issues and promote the creation of a positive and inclusive learning environment. We urge the school administration to establish policies and guidelines that discourage the exploitation of students for content on TikTok, as well as provide teachers with training to utilize social media in a responsible and respectful manner.

In the end, it is our sincere belief that through decisive and expeditious action on these issues, the educational community will be fortified with an environment that truly values and protects the dignity and respect of every student, while safeguarding them from the dangers of social media and online child predators.

Thank you for your consideration of this urgent matter.
