In my home area in Uganda, i have faced the same issues with period poverty but i have been supported by a school in china called Xian Liagjiatan International school through the project with my mentor and the innovators grant which offered me an opportunity to break free from the cycle of period poverty. With their invaluable assistance, I was able to initiate a foundation called Youngsters Appeal aimed at providing support to girls within my village. Currently, I am eager to expand my efforts and provide support to girls in my community.

It is alarming that millions of women worldwide lack access to period products. The inability to access these basic necessities forces women to miss school or work during menstruation. This issue is pervasive across my village and other rural areas globally, perpetuating teenage pregnancies, early marriages, school dropouts, and reinforcing the cycle of poverty. Access to period products would greatly simplify the lives of women, empowering them to continue learning, working, and growing.

Imagine the positive impact we could have by eradicating period poverty, which would eliminate early marriages, teenage pregnancies, and school dropouts amongst girls living in rural areas. I implore you to join me in this critical endeavor by signing this petition, which would serve as a voice for the voiceless girls. With over 500 signatures, I can present our collective message to the government, advocating for their urgent intervention in this pressing issue.
