Ban Teachers Taking Phones And AirPods In School.
Ban Teachers Taking Phones And AirPods In School.
The Issue
At my school, people's phones and AirPods have been getting taken up for triple and double the price as of 4/15/2024. At the beginning of the school year, the price was only 15 dollars for your phone or AirPods. They also only used to give us warnings first but now they are taking them away with no excuses. My student handbook for the 2023 - 2024 school year says, "If a student uses a telecommunications device without authorization during the school day, the device will be confiscated. The student or parent may pick up the confiscated telecommunications device from the principal’s office for a fee of $15." Nowhere does it mention AirPods or any headphones. Kids are also left alone when they walk around the hallways with normal headphones connected to their computers to watch YouTube videos. Still, for some reason, it becomes a problem when there is no cord, even if it's connected to your school Chromebook to do the same thing. A student at my school has had their airpods taken up for $45.
