Hi everyone,

My name is Brian Princiotta, a resident in New Jersey. I belong to many communities: my youth-led organization, the Green Brief, my high school, my family, but there is one that I share with all of you, residents of the Earth. 

As I've come of age, I've taken a more close notice on the selfish, voluntary acts of humans and how they affect the world we live in. Wildfires, international drought, pollution (specifically in the ocean) are issues that I have been closely following and reporting on social media, through the Green Brief. 

As it stands, anywhere from 150 to 400 billion pounds of plastic waste are in the ocean, somewhere. This is completely unacceptable. We are the most powerful species on the planet, by far, and that means we also have the most ability to make change. Therefore, I made this petition to try and combat one of the myriad of factors that are contributing to global climate change. Please, if you can, take the time to sign this petition and help humanity strive for a better version of ourselves.
