Ban Pitbulls in Ireland

Petition To Ban Pitbulls in Ireland
Last weekend on young Alejandro Mizsan was playing outside his home of the Old Forge Road estate in Enniscorthy, Wexford, on Sunday when he was viciously attacked by a pitbull at around 4pm.
From the attack Alejandro sustained life changing injuries when his face was ripped apart, with his bottom lip and each of his cheeks torn off, with extensive damage near his left eye. He also suffered serious leg injuries in the attack.
Alejandro's older brother Raúl said to RTÉ News that "His face is destroyed and his life will be destroyed forever, its a terrible thing to happen to his life. He will never be the same kid again."
This is another in a long line of similar and attacks where this vicious breed of uncontrollable dog has attacked a defenceless child.
Pitbulls and their variants were originally bred to fight bulls in pits, its where their name comes from. They are not like other dogs these animals were designed and bred to kill animals much larger than themselves. A pitbull is an animal which was designed for bloodsport e.g. bull fighting, bear fighting and dog fighting. It is not safe for people to own animals like these.
Ireland has some of the strictest gun ownership laws in the world, no-one in Ireland is allowed to own a handgun yet there are thousands of these lethal uncontrollable animals throughout Ireland.
We NEED to put a stop to the breeding, ownership and importation of pitbull and pitbull variants in ireland.
What happenened to young Alejandro should never have happened and we as a country cannot allow it to ever happen again.
The results of this petition will be sent to every TD and Senator in Leinster House to finally protect the population, especially our children, from these dangerous animals
