Ban Kendall Rich from TikTok for Spreading Hate Against Aubreigh Wyatt and Heather Wyatt.

The Issue

As an individual who has survived suicide, I find the actions of certain TikTok users to be extremely harmful. This petition aims to address the destructive behavior of Kendall Rich on tiktok, who has been openly spreading derogative and hate-filled content about Aubreigh Wyatt, a member of the same platform community. This behavior torments victims, fans and followers by perpetuating negativity and promoting victim blaming.

Bullying is a grave issue that affects numerous people, with an estimated 20% of people aged 12-18 experiencing bullying in the U.S. alone according to PACER’s National Bullying Prevention Center (2018). However, despite the known harmful impacts, it remains unabated on online platforms like TikTok.

An important case at hand is Aubreigh Wyatt. For her, being at the receiving end of berating content from Rich has been distressing and unfair. Cyberbullying can lead to serious emotional trauma and mental health illnesses like depression and anxiety, even suicide, as was evidenced by a report from the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services (2019).

It is high time TikTok takes strong and decisive action against this irresponsible and harmful behavior on their platform. Ban Kendall Rich from TikTok permanently for spreading hate, thus demonstrating that there will be zero tolerance for cyberbullying and bullying in general. Let's band together to ensure online spaces remain safe arenas for expression, without the fear of intimidation, hate, and ostracism. Please sign this petition to make our voice heard.
